This is an 1895 picture of some of the children and ancestors of Josiah C. Leath and his wife Georgia Ann Webb, taken at the Leath homestead in Blanche, Cherokee Co., AL. Charles Dowdey, the author's father, visited this home many times as a child, and was able to locate what remains of the foundation several years ago.
Adults L->R Eliza Ann (Collins) Taff, her daughter Sarah Catherine "Mammie" (Taff) Webb, her son-in-law Josiah C. Leath, his wife Georgia Ann Webb.
Children L->R James Euclid, Wayne C., Askew L., Priscilla Clemetine, Carrie, and Perry Catherine... all children of Josiah C. and Georgia Ann
Mammie Webb's husband James Perry Webb died in the Civil War in 1865 outside Atlanta, GA. (sadly, after the surrender at Appomattox had already occurred).
The children were known to later family as Euclid, Aunt Nip, Askew, Prezzie, Aunt Dink, and Granny
